It just so happens the day we booked months ago... was utterly pouring rain. Oops! But no backing out!
Even in the rain though it was a nice trip. The stairs were a very steep spiral staircase.
We had both my parents and my mother in law visiting this weekend, and my brothers in law also stopped by, so even though we shortened our trip and went home early instead of checking out Ellis Island, it was a wonderful and full day. We all dried off and had a nice family meal.
Teacup has been in camps throughout July, coding camp and gymnastics camp and adventure camp. So she's been keeping busy while I finish up paperwork for the visa and my husband and I pack and get ready for the move. But we still also made time for a beach trip too, because we couldn't bear to go through summer without at least one visit to the beach!
I did also get the chance to enjoy visiting my awesome former coworkers, as a +1 to the annual company summer event (thanks Nancy!). I really miss the team, so it was nice to say hello to them. Plus I got to do some kayaking! That my first kayaking experience, and I got to test out my packing muscles in the Hudson. Lovely view!
Visas being visas, there is still some paperwork red tape to work through, so wish me luck on that part. (My husband guessed 3 visits and it looks like he is spot on, lol!) But in good news, it looks like the cat can be exempted from in-faculty quarantine due to new rules and is getting her testing process started more than 6 months early. So she gets to quarantine at home, and as an inside cat, that means a direct to new home!
Now it's time for the next adventure, so stay tuned.
